Turkey, Camembert, Pumpkin, Beetroot and Lettuce Toasted Sandwich ($6.90)
To say, that I would never in my wildest dreams fathomed of coming here, let alone eating here is an understatement. Maybe because it was in the Devonshire tunnel, closely associated with buskers, homeless people, greenish walls and the faces of ghosts hidden behind glass. Maybe because the only time I walk past it is commuting to and from uni and I never feel particularly peckish then. Or maybe, and most probably, its because most of the times I walk past it, the shutter doors are drawn closed and some tasteful graffiti looks back at you. Nonetheless, my friend suggested the sandwiches here and it was his shout, so who am I to say no to a free sandwich?
To add more ambiguity to this place, I can not for the life of me find it on Google. I managed to get an address and phone number, under the Google Map category of ‘Cafe’, thought I am pretty certain they do not sell coffee there. I only got the name by intentionally walking past it a week later and quickly jotting it down before I forgot. I have no idea what P/L stands for. Anyways, I don’t blame you if you have never or will never see it, I really don’t know what you would be doing down there.
