Exciting news friends! We will be participating in this years ‘Live Below the Line’ Challenge in which we will be feeding ourselves for $2 a day for five days in May. As both Edwina and I are making a team, we will be pooling in a total of $20 to use across the five days – so essentially $4 a day between the both of us. We’ll be keeping you posted on our team’s profile page as well as here – wish us luck!
Why are we doing this?
$2 a day is the equivalent of the extreme poverty line in Australia. From May 6th- 10th, we’ll gain a window into the day-to-day lives of people who live in extreme poverty. In 2012 Live Below the Line had it’s most successful year yet, with over 7800 Australians taking the challenge to eat on $2 a day for five days. With over 50,000 donors, over $1.92 million was raised for schools and teachers in places like Papua New Guinea and Cambodia.
How can you help?
You can support us and donate to our campaign. All you have to do is head to our public profile at: www.livebelowtheline.com.au/team/basil-and-lamb and click on Donate to me. And of course, you can choose to make your donation tax-deductible.
Your generous support will help provide schools, teacher training, books and bicycles for young people living in extreme poverty. This year, the campaign is aiming to raise $2.5 million, which will help send 4,600 children to school.
P.S If you’re really up for a challenge, why not Live Below the Line with us? Head to: http://www.livebelowtheline.com.au and compete for some great prizes!
